To updo or not updo?? Hair Trial 1

Make-Up

I don't wear a lot of make up so I was worried about looking too washed out for the pictures. I priced a few make up artists that travel to you, and I was shocked by the costs. For that kind of money, I'd rather have the make up to use after the wedding rather than 1 day! I like Prescriptives foundations so I went ahead and had a full-face make up trial at the Macy's at Concord Mall by Tara. As long as you buy the products, Tara will do your face for you for free on the day of the wedding. You only buy what you like.

Here's my first trial--we're still working on the lip color and I'll come back closer to the wedding  so she can custom blend a foundation for me (too early to do it now if I get a tan).

Before and After of Prescriptives Trial with Tara

Here is the soft palette Tara chose for my eyes. The eyes are a pale pink shadow with smoky charcoal liner. She used both a pencil liner and a gel liner (on the outer edges) in charcoal and then topped the gel with the charcoal powder. The charcoal shadow has blue undertones so it looks a little like a dark teal when she is done. She will put 3 different mascaras on me the day of--a lash thickener (the white stuff), a lash lengthener, and then finish with waterproof mascara.

Teeth Whitening

I drink a lot of tea and took tetracycline as a teenager so my teeth were not as pearly white as I would have liked. My dentist is kind enough to offer half-price whitening trays for brides. His whitening service was not a single in-office brightening, but rather a custom-made mouthpiece and gel to brighten the teeth over a 2-week period. You can buy more gel to keep your teeth white over your lifetime. I am giving this a try and will post the final results.
